A 10-year-old girl from Grade 4 is receiving treatment at Homa Bay County Teaching & Referral Hospital after being attacked by her classmates.
The girl, who is the class prefect, was reportedly beaten after she wrote down the names of noisy students, which led to them being punished by the teacher.
Angered by the punishment, the students later attacked her, leaving her with serious injuries.
As a result, she lost movement in both of her lower limbs.
Doctors are keeping a close watch on her condition while investigations into the incident continue.
