A Nigerian woman has advised men to publicly share photos of the women they plan to marry to find out if they were once involved in prostitution, commonly referred to as “runs.” In a post shared on her social media page, she explained that doing this would help men understand the background of the person they are marrying—whether she is a “good woman,” someone else’s wife, or a former sex worker.
She argued that with the younger generation, particularly Gen Z, behaving in unpredictable ways, it’s crucial for men to know the true history of the women they intend to marry. Her advice came after she saw a post where a man apologized to another man for marrying his wife, which she believes highlights the importance of being cautious.
The woman’s suggestion has sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing that it’s important to know a partner’s past, while others criticized the idea as invasive and disrespectful.
“I’m thinking, maybe before you marry a woman, post her on social media platforms to know if she was once a run/hookup/ or maybe she is someone else’s wife. There is a way men look out for each other because these Gen Zs are moving wired. No one is a saint, but there are people you shouldn’t dare put in your house. Just saw a post where a man apologised to a man that he didn’t know the woman was married,” she wrote.
