Corper who called Tinubu ‘terrible’ and criticized the government over hardship apologizes

The Nigerian corps member, identified as Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, has issued a public apology to Lagosians and others affected by her viral video. In the video, she criticized the country’s economic situation and claimed there was a foul smell in Lagos.

Raye’s comments sparked backlash and threats from some government officials, leading to an attempt to summon her for a disciplinary meeting with the Local Government Inspector (LGI).

Amid the criticism and threats, the corps member took to her Instagram page to clarify her stance and express regret for how her words may have been interpreted.

She explained that her remarks about the economic situation were part of a “30-day rant challenge,” aimed at expressing frustrations about Nigeria’s economic conditions.

Raye noted that her intention was to reach at least day 20 of the challenge before gaining widespread attention, but her statements went viral on the very first day.

She encouraged Nigerians to focus on demanding better living conditions rather than being distracted by short-lived controversies.
