Controversial Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing Sunday has stated that the reason celebrities have online feud is just for the purpose of chasing clout.
She recently had an interview with Hip TV where she said some of the entertainers use it as a publicity stunt for a new music or project that they want to release.
According to Nkechi Blessing, whenever she sees celebrities fighting online, she ignores and does not get involved because she understands that sometimes they plan the ‘fight’.
She said; “My thoughts on celebrities bashing each other on the Internet, I feel it’s some form of publicity stunt. By the time they come out on social media to exchange words, is either they have a new single coming up or they’re about to drop a song.
“So most times when I see celebrities fighting online, I just walk away because most times we sit down and plan these things.
“Sometimes, it’s not actually bad blood. As I said they might want to release a single so they will need all the clout and engagements to get their songs out there in your faces. So that’s it literally.”
This is coming just a few weeks after superstar singers, Wizkid and Davido clashed on microblogging platform, Twitter.
Popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid fought dirty with his colleague, David in April and caused a great divide amongst colleagues.
Amid the exchange of insults and denigratory comments, Wizkid boasted that even if he decides to retire from the music industry now, Davido will still not be on his level.
He described the Omo Baba Olowo as his “boy and noted that the Grammy nominated artiste is just an influencer with a songwriter.
Wiz wrote; “I got nun to say to u my boy! I can retire today and you still not on my level. You be influencer with a song writer. Wish u well.”
It was a reply to Davido who had publicly tackled Wizkid for shading him by reposting a video which recently went viral on social media amid cheating allegations
