Approximately 70 clerics from across the Northwest region converged in Kaduna for a significant one-day prayer session aimed at promoting peace and development.
Representing states including Kaduna, Kano, Sokoto, Jigawa, Zamfara, Kebbi, and Katsina, the clerics gathered to offer prayers for Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and the Nigerian Armed Forces. Their prayers focused on seeking divine intervention to address the escalating challenges of banditry and kidnapping in the region.
Malam Lawal Ibrahim BK, who convened the session, expressed deep concern over the worsening insecurity in the Northwest. He emphasized the hope that their collective prayers would yield tangible outcomes in restoring peace and security.
“We decided to organize this prayer session because the Northwest is facing severe security challenges, especially with banditry and kidnapping. We also prayed for the Chief of Defence Staff and the Nigerian Armed Forces, trusting in their ability to overcome these challenges,” Malam Lawal Ibrahim stated.
The session saw active participation from 70 clerics, all of whom are directly impacted by the ongoing security issues in their communities.
Notable clerics in attendance included Shaikh Muhammad Nur from Katsina, Malam Jamilu Ismail from Kano, Malam Rabiu Al-Mustapha from Sokoto, and Malam Kamaludeen Ismail from Zamfara.
