Erica Nlewedim has responded after facing criticism for showcasing her father, who was absent from her life until she gained fame.
The former Big Brother Naija star attended a movie premiere with her father, sharing a video of him interacting with other celebrities as her plus-one at the event.
Erica wrote in the caption: “Went to a premiere with my dad.”
An X user quote-tweeted Erica’s video and wrote: “Her dad was absent growing up but guess who she flaunts now? Him!
“Her mum literally raised her and was financially responsible for her but cause of how male centered she is, she just had to.”
Erica responded: “There’s always one fool, like I’ve not been posting my mom all the holidays, the one time I post my dad I’m male centered, left to you I’ll be a bitter witch holding grudges till he dies and then I’ll say had i known! I think your parents did a poor job because look at how you think! Eww!”
While in the Big Brother Naija house, Erica shared that she was raised solely by her mother. She later reconnected with her father through social media, but their relationship remained strained.
However, after her time on the reality show, her father became more involved in her life and even referred to her as the “most beautiful girl in Africa” in 2020.
