Going to School is a waste of time- Coffin Maker says

Owusu Gideon, a Ghanaian coffin maker, has expressed his belief that formal education is not essential for success.

In a recent interview, he revealed that after finishing Junior High School, he decided to pursue a trade rather than continue to secondary school.

Gideon explained that while his family struggled financially and couldn’t support his education, he personally saw no value in furthering his studies. Instead, he believed that learning a skill was a more practical path for his future.

“During our time, there was no free education. You could go but you could get to a certain level where you wouldn’t get anyone to support you” he stated.

Adding that “That time, I was only going to waste my time at the secondary school so it was better to learn a skill because that could make you prosper in life”.
