Popular Nigerian crossdresser Bobrisky, born Idris Okuneye, has subtly mocked Nigerians following President Bola Tinubu’s recent declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
Recall that on Tuesday, Tinubu suspended all elected members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas to oversee the state’s administration. He emphasized that the prolonged political dispute between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the state legislature had weakened governance, depriving citizens of democratic benefits.
With rising tensions and increasing security threats, Tinubu explained that the intervention was necessary to restore order and stability in the state.
Amid these developments, Bobrisky reassured his followers, whom he affectionately calls his “babies,” that he was aware of the ongoing crisis. Blending empathy with humor, he encouraged Nigerians to stay strong and remain hopeful despite the challenges.
He wrote:
“How is Nigeria treating you, my babies? I heard a lot is happening. Just keep holding on. Our country will be better one day.”
