Man City to wait for punishment if found guilty of 115 charges

A decision in Manchester City’s financial fair play (FFP) case is reportedly nearing, but the Premier League champions could still face a long wait to learn their punishment if found guilty.

City have firmly denied all 115 charges leveled against them. An outcome is expected in the spring, with an independent panel set to deliver a verdict more than two years after the club was initially charged.

However, even if City are found guilty, the process of determining their punishment will take additional time. According to the Financial Times, the independent panel will not be responsible for deciding the sanctions.

Instead, a separate process will handle the penalties, with both Manchester City and the Premier League retaining the right to appeal. Potential punishments, as outlined by Premier League regulations, could range from significant points deductions and transfer bans to, in the most severe case, expulsion from the English top flight.
