She is the first registered nurse in a wheelchair in New York State. Recently, she has gained attention for her role in treating coronavirus patients in New York City, the epicenter of the pandemic.
Andrea Dalzell was diagnosed with transverse myelitis when she was five years old and began using a wheelchair full-time by the age of 12.
She earned a degree from the City University of New York, College of Staten Island. After graduation and 76 interviews, she secured her first position as a registered nurse while using a wheelchair.
Her inspirational story and never-give-up attitude have made her go viral.
