Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 42-year-old businessman, Okeke Ebuka Igwe, for attempting to smuggle 1.10kg of illicit drugs.
The agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, revealed this in a statement on Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Igwe, an auto spare parts dealer, allegedly hid the parcels of cocaine inside vehicle propellers while trying to export them to Angola through the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Ikeja, Lagos.
However, his plan was foiled by NDLEA operatives, who arrested him on Monday, February 24, after receiving credible intelligence.
During interrogation, Igwe claimed he runs an auto parts business at ASPANDA, Trade Fair Complex, Ojo, Lagos.
