Muyiwa Awoniyi, the manager of Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems (real name Temilade Openiyi), has advised young people not to rely too much on the government.
He stated that the government has no real plans or solutions for its citizens, urging youths to focus on creating their own opportunities instead of waiting for help from the authorities.
“Nigeria has no plans for you,” Awoniyi wrote on his X handle, sparking a debate.
While many people agreed with Muyiwa Awoniyi’s statement, others disagreed, saying it’s unfair to expect everything from the government without actively contributing to nation-building.
This comes after Nigerian singer Rema, in a recent interview, expressed sadness that many people have lost hope in Nigeria due to the country’s numerous challenges. However, he encouraged young people not to give up on Nigeria, emphasizing that building the nation is a shared responsibility between citizens and the government.
Rema also promised to keep doing his part to contribute to the country’s growth and development. His message highlights the importance of collective effort in addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
