South Korea is taking a bold step to tackle its declining birth rate by allegedly offering financial incentives for dating, marriage, and starting a family.
It is reported that, in Busan’s Saha District, couples can receive up to $38,000 in support. The program starts by giving $360 to couples who begin dating, followed by a $15,000 marriage gift.
It is believed that newlyweds also get housing support either $23,000 a deposit or monthly rent assistance of $600 for five years.
It is said that these incentives aim to ease financial burdens and encourage young people to commit to relationships.
