Happen.ng reported earlier that President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended the governor, deputy governor, and state assembly members.
During a national address on Tuesday, Tinubu announced the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months.
The president explained that his decision came after a detailed review of the situation. He stated that the governor and his deputy did not formally request federal help, as required by Section 305(5) of the 1999 Constitution.
