Rapper Falz has reacted to the news of President Bola Tinubu suspending Siminalayi Fubara.
Earlier reports indicated that President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly for six months.
Reacting to the news, Falz stated that there is absolutely no law that allows a president to suspend a governor.
He further explained that a governor is elected into office and can only be removed through impeachment.
He questioned whether Rivers State is at war, if there is an actual breakdown of public order, or if there is a threat to the existence of the federation.
Falz quoted the law, which states that “the president shall have power to issue a proclamation of a state of emergency only when the Federation is at war, the Federation is in imminent danger of invasion or involvement in a state of war, or there is an actual breakdown of public safety in the Federation.” and other laws.
