Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s recent clash with Senate President Godswill Akpabio has sparked renewed interest in both her political career and personal life.
While her bold stance in the Senate and accusations against Akpabio have captured national attention, details about her private life—including her marriages and children—have also come into focus.
According to investigations by the Nation, Natasha has four children from different relationships. She had a son with her first husband, a boy and a girl with her second husband, and another son with her current husband, High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Her marriage to Uduaghan, a well-known businessman and politician, has further connected her political goals to Delta State’s power dynamics.
The recent controversy began in February 2024 when Natasha opposed a new seating arrangement in the Senate. The disagreement grew into accusations that Akpabio was targeting her because she had rejected his alleged advances in the past.
After being suspended for six months, Natasha fought back by filing a defamation lawsuit against Akpabio and taking her case to international organizations like the United Nations and the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
This isn’t the first time Natasha has accused someone of sexual harassment. A video from 2021 resurfaced, showing her making similar claims against former presidential aide Reno Omokri. Omokri denied the allegations, stating he was out of the country at the time.
These repeated accusations have left the public divided. Some view Natasha as a courageous woman standing up to powerful men, while others doubt her credibility.
Despite the controversies, Natasha remains a strong and influential figure in Nigerian politics. Whether her impact will last or fade over time is unclear, but she has undoubtedly established herself as a woman unafraid to challenge the system.
