According to the UN Tourism Barometer, Africa welcomed 6% more tourists between January and September 2024 than during the same time in 2019.

1. Morocco

A report from Bloomberg said Morocco passed Egypt to take the number one spot. Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations in late 2025 and will co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal. The country hopes to welcome 26 million tourists by then—about 50% more than in 2024.
2. Egypt
Egypt is still one of Africa’s top travel spots, with 15.7 million visitors in 2024. Tourists go there to see the Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, and explore the Nile River. The Red Sea also attracts people who enjoy beaches, diving, and luxury resorts.
3. South Africa
South Africa has something for everyone: from Table Mountain in Cape Town to wild animals in Kruger National Park. Tourists also enjoy the lively cities like Johannesburg and scenic drives along the Garden Route.
4. Tunisia
