Travelers at Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II in Lagos State witnessed an unexpected and surprise wedding ceremony on Saturday, as Olamide Alli and Abiodun Agboola exchanged their vows and tied the knot in the airport terminal, leaving onlookers in awe and astonishment.
According to reports, the wedding took place in the departure area of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal II, which is managed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL).
Due to space constraints, the cordoned-off section of the terminal could only accommodate a small gathering of 50 guests to witness the intimate ceremony.
According to Mr. Kola Bamigboye, Chief Operating Officer of Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL), the unprecedented airport wedding was designed to showcase MMA2’s versatility beyond just being a terminal.
He expressed hopes that this inaugural wedding would pave the way for more couples to consider airports as unique venues for their special day.
Mr Kola said:
“We like to bring people together. It’s either you are traveling through our terminal or you are coming here to solidify your love.”
Additionally, Mrs. Monica Oguta, Head of Aviation Security at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Ltd (BASL), viewed the wedding as a chance to innovate and add value to airport terminals.
Although, when she was asked if the couple were airport staff, she noted that they were just normal Nigerians.
Oguta said …
“They are just Nigerians who felt the idea was good.
“I started nursing the idea of an airport wedding some years back and when the opportunity came, we seized it.”
