A Nigerian mother has cried out, calling on the government to address the seemingly unending hardship in the country. She made this statement in reaction to President Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State on Tuesday.
President Tinubu, on Tuesday, suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy, Ngozi Odu, and the state lawmakers for six months.
Reacting to this, the Nigerian mother said, “What we need is a state of emergency for our stomachs, not a state of emergency in Rivers State to suspend a governor.”
The Nigerian mother lamented the high prices of food in the market, adding that due to the hardship and bad economy, she can no longer afford gas or a stove, so she now uses firewood to cook.
She called on Nigerian mothers to come out and lead the protest for a better Nigeria while their children stay behind them.
” We need to call for state of emergency for all our stomachs, foodstuffs in the Market are now expensive,I can no longer afford gas or stove I now use firewood to cook,Nigerian Mothers need to come out and lead the protest while our kids will stay behind us” -The Woman said.
