14 Rescued as Building collapses in Lekki,Lagos

A building under construction collapsed on Oriwu Street in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State, on Wednesday, trapping several people beneath the rubble.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, stating that the structure caved in around 4:00 PM. Emergency responders were quickly dispatched to the scene, working relentlessly to rescue those affected.

Fourteen individuals were successfully pulled from the debris and transported to Lagos Island General Hospital for medical treatment. Hundeyin assured that security personnel remain on-site to assist with ongoing rescue efforts.

The cause of the collapse is yet to be determined, but authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
