A YABATECH student has been arrested after the parents of his girlfriend, who lives abroad, accused him of fraud and extortion, causing public outrage.
In a video shared by one of his schoolmates, the girlfriend defended him, insisting that everything she gave him was done willingly and that her parents’ claims of blackmail, extortion, and fraud were untrue.
The couple has been in a relationship for almost two years, but instead of preparing for his exams, the young man was reportedly taken to Alagbon Police Station in Lagos.
His friends are now calling for justice, alleging that they were forced to pay ₦200,000 just to secure his bail.
