Nigerian billionaire businesswoman Folorunsho Alakija is reportedly undergoing treatment after allegedly losing her sight following a distressing flight experience.
According to SaharaReporters, Alakija and her husband, Modupe Alakija, Chairman of Famfa Oil, were on board a flight when the incident occurred. The scare reportedly caused a spike in her blood pressure, which is believed to have affected her vision.
Despite changing her flight afterward, sources claim she eventually lost her sight due to complications.
A source told SaharaReporters:
“She experienced a near air mishap with her husband on board, which led to a severe increase in her blood pressure, ultimately affecting her eyesight. She had been dealing with vision issues for some time but, instead of seeking medical treatment, chose to focus on founding a church. Now, she can no longer see.”
Alakija, known as one of Nigeria’s wealthiest women, is yet to release an official statement regarding her health.
