EFCC interrogates former Minister Kennedy-Ohanenye over alleged N138.4 Million Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) interrogated former Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, on Thursday over allegations of misappropriating N138.4 million, violating procurement procedures, and diverting public funds from the ministry’s 2023 budget.

According to sources, the ex-minister arrived at the EFCC headquarters around 11 am, where she was questioned regarding her alleged role in the financial misconduct. Investigations reveal that funds allocated for the P-Bat Cares for Women Initiative were allegedly diverted for personal use.

Kennedy Ohanenye, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu on August 21, 2023, was one of the ministers dismissed from office in October 2024.

Recall that earlier this year, Chika Ike announced she was pregnant by sharing her baby bump on social media.

Her pregnancy announcement was met with controversies as people revealed that billionaire,Ned Nwoko was the father of her baby.

Both Chika Ike and Ned Nwoko recently denied the rumours.
